This is the hardest page on my website. Trying to put something impressive, pretending like it’s not me saying it, saying it like it’s a TV announcer talking about me.
How about this, in my Deep announcer voice... Tim is the world’s greatest photographer, has been in business for over 25 years as a professional photographer. Mr. Galyean has won international photo contests winning his first one at the age of 16 and has customers all over the United States. Blah blah blah etc.
I think I will just go with this:
I’ve been doing photography for over 30 years and have the experience to make anyone look great in their portraits. When you want to look good in your portrait, family or seniors it’s hard to beat my photography for quality, value for your money and a fun portrait experience from start to finish. With each person that comes in for a portrait I look at them as a beautiful human being and this could be their last photo session ever so I want it to be the best. What keeps it fun for me is that I look at each session as it could be my last one ever so I enjoy every one.
My family comes before my business which helps a bunch to keep my business fun. My customers are more important to me than the money. Seeing a teenagers eyes light up or self esteem go up because of a awesome portrait of them is priceless. It’s funny when I care about my customers more than the money, the money seems to show up on it’s own.
Keeping Seniors Safe / Information
A word of Caution-Keeping Seniors Safe- In the past 2-5 years there have been major changes in senior portrait photography. The main one is that it seems like anyone who can get their hands on a inexpensive digital pro camera is a photographer. They can put together an impressive web site and direct mail pieces and very easily have the ability to mislead customers. Another result of all the new photographers is that many of the retail business location studios are closing their doors, which leaves teenagers meeting at places that could be unsafe to meet up with photographers. We've seen pictures of seniors standing on railroad tracks with a train in the background, standing in the middle of a road with cars going both ways, all the downtown type shots and the one incident here in Kansas with the tiger. Just because someone puts something on a web site or advertisement doesn't always mean that it's true. Some things to find out about your photographer. How long have they been in business? Do they put a physical address on their web sites or advertisements? Are they going to be here today and gone tomorrow, with your money and pictures? Do they appear by their ads to be a big time studio but really have a regular job and just do photography on the side? If they are doing photography in their home is it safe? Can parents/friends be with the senior during the whole shoot? If you're a parent do you know where your senior is being taken if they go to a location setting? Is it safe for a teenager to be there? Does your senior ride with the photographer and if so do they have a safe driving record? Where will your pictures be shown after they take them? Do they have referrals who you know or can be checked out? Do they choose settings and poses that are safe or ones that are trendy that could result in injury to a teenager?
At Tim Galyean Photography we do many things to help keep seniors safe. There is always a female employee at the studio when we schedule a girl's senior session. Sessions are done at one place at our studio, no traveling around town. Parents and or friends can be right beside the senior at all times during the session, we even give free wallets if they schedule with a friend to encourage other people to be with them. We do not show a seniors pictures to anyone without them first signing a release form giving us the ok to do so. We have been in business for over 20 years specializing in senior portraits. Seniors get to choose what type of backgrounds and poses they want to do, we can make suggestions but it's up to them to make the final choice on how they want to pose and what settings. Outfits- all seniors are different, we give tips on our web site on what types of outfits they should bring but it's up to the individual as to what they bring for their session. We photograph each senior differently depending on their personality and what they are wanting for their portraits. (within reason) 90% of our business comes from referrals and repeat customers, so we don't do any fancy advertising, usually just small reminder type postcards. We work with local high schools to help with fundraisers and their picture needs so many know who we are and some have links to our web site.
