Family Portraits

We think everyone should have an updated family portrait. If your high school senior was 2 years old in your last professional family portrait then you probably should get an updated one. We also think it shouldn't be as hard as people like to make it. Below are some tips to help you have a beautiful family portrait created without a lot of stress. Call if you have any questions about our tips or if you would like your family portrait taken at your place.

1. For outdoor portraits. Choose long sleeves, solid colors, black, gray, brown, medium to dark blue or green. With jeans or dark pants.  Don't wear white unless we're going to the beach in Florida or if it's snowing.

2. Bring 2 cars, so the guys can leave as soon as we view the pictures right after the session. We view the pictures right afterwards to make sure everyone is happy with how they look.

3. Most family sessions only take about 15 minutes so family members don't have to spend the whole day at our studio.  It does take 30-45 minutes to pick out what you want but everyone doesn't have to hand around for that.

4. Don't sweat the small stuff. We have PhotoShop.

5. Pets are okay but they add time and a little to the stress level.

6. We can do portraits at your home also.

7. View our specials page for savings.

8. Call to set up your appointment and ask questions.

A family portrait isn't always about the people in the photography looking like a super models, it's also about sharing your family for future generations.  A professional portrait is usually a gift for others compared to any other items purchased. If you've ever gone through your Parents or Grandparents old family portraits you will remember the value of that.  Those old photographs captured who they were at that time so you could enjoy them today and pass them on to future generations.  What if they were so concerned about how they looked in a photograph and never had any taken?

A few months ago we were doing a fund raiser at our studio for the Kelsey Smith Foundation.  Kelseysarmy.org.  A local morning TV show found out about it and called us and wanted us to be on their show to tell what we were doing. I told them I would as long as I didn't have to speak or be on camera. (sound familiar)  After hanging up my wife and I had that look at each other that said, this isn't about us looking like dorks on TV this is about Kelsey and what we can do to help the KSF help protect other young people. I called them back and said we would do it.  It went really smooth and we survived being in front of the camera. What made it work was the working with professional show hosts.  They coached us along with what to say and do, they made it quick and easy  and didn't make us look like dorks.  Sort of like going to a professional photographer (us) rather that the next door neighbors friend with a new Canon Rebel doing your portraits.  Capture your family in a professional family portrait, it will be one of the best investments you will ever make.  Help and prevent this generation being the generation without pictures.
